ALLEVYN Gentle dressing has an advanced triple-layer construction which combines an absorbent hydrocellular pad sandwiched between a perforated soft gel adhesive wound contact layer and a highly permeable waterproof outer film. Features Mode of Action The advanced triple-layered construction of ALLEVYN Gentle facilitates dynamic fluid management to provide the optimal moist wound environment which leads to the promotion of faster healing and reduced risk of maceration. The wound contact surface of ALLEVYN Gentle is coated with a soft gel adhesive layer that facilitates easier application of secondary retention application and ensures atraumatic removal at dressing changes. ALLEVYN Gentle is easy to both apply and remove. Indications Wound management by secondary intention on shallow, granulating wounds. Chronic and acute exudative wounds, full and partial thickness wounds such as: Pressure ulcers Leg ulcers Diabetic foot ulcers Infected wounds Malignant wounds Surgical wounds First and second degree burns Donor sites Skin tears Fungating ulcers Can be used in conjunction with INTRASITE* Gel for necrotic or sloughy wounds. ALLEVYN Gentle is suitable for use on fragile skin. Contraindications / Precautions Precautions Do not use ALLEVYN Gentle dressings with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions (e.g. EUSOL) or hydrogen peroxide, as these can break down the absorbent polyurethane component of the dressing. When used under compression ALLEVYN Gentle could become dislodged if the limb experiences a rapid reduction in oedema. If reddening or sensitisation occur discontinue use. Code: 334-2136
